Why embeds load from flarefasthost.com
When you copy a Flare embed snippet, the script and iframe load from flarefasthost.com. This is intentional and helps your videos play reliably for more viewers.
Why a different domain?
Public networks — airport Wi-Fi, hotel Wi-Fi, campus networks, corporate guest Wi-Fi — increasingly run aggressive firewall filtering. Newer top-level domains (like .link) sometimes get blanket-blocked by these filters because the TLD itself is younger and has accumulated less reputation than .com.
Is the video itself any different?
No. flarefasthost.com is the same delivery edge:
- Same performance — bytes come from the same cache locations
- Same player — every feature works identically
- Same analytics — events still flow back to your dashboard
The only thing that changed is the hostname on the wire.
Do I need to update old embeds?
We recommend switching existing embeds to flarefasthost.com when convenient, but old embeds pointing at embed.flare.link will still work. New embeds you copy from the dashboard will use flarefasthost.com going forward.
